Google for Startups Accelerator Africa is now open for applications for its 2025 cohort! This 3-month hybrid program is designed to empower Seed to Series A tech startups across Africa that are leveraging AI to address major challenges. Participants will receive equity-free support, up to $350K in Google Cloud credits, mentorship, and much more.
Across Sub-Saharan Africa, agriculture is the cornerstone of many communities. However, for millions of smallholder farmers, limited access to credit, digital tools, and formal financial systems remains a major obstacle to progress. This challenge directly impacts food security, economic stability, and long-term growth.
Startups like Crop2Cash play a vital role in addressing this issue. The agritech company is working to simplify agriculture and equip farmers with the digital tools they need to succeed. From helping farmers establish digital identities to ensuring access to credit and enabling traceable payments, Crop2Cash is bridging the gap between informal agricultural communities and formal economic systems. Crop2Cash is one of the many innovative businesses that have participated in the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program. This initiative was launched in 2018 with the goal of supporting startups across the continent that are tackling pressing challenges with bold, technology-driven solutions. Since its inception, the program has worked with over 140 startups in 17 African countries, collectively raising more than $300 million and creating over 3,000 jobs.
Applications are now open for the 2025 cohort of the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program. This three-month hybrid program is tailored to support Seed to Series A tech startups using artificial intelligence (AI) to address systemic issues across the continent. Selected startups will receive:
- Equity-free support and up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits
- Expert mentorship from Googlers and industry leaders
- Customized technical training and strategic guidance
- Networking opportunities with investors, partners, and peers across Africa and beyond
