LOXEA Nigeria, a subsidiary of the CFAO Mobility group, has officially introduced BYD (Build Your Dreams) electric vehicles to the Nigerian market, marking a significant step in the country’s shift toward cleaner transportation.

The launch event took place over the weekend at the elegant Alliance Française in Ikoyi, Lagos.

With the introduction of the BYD Atto 3 and BYD Dolphin models, LOXEA is now the first company to introduce this globally recognized EV brand to Nigeria, positioning the country among the growing number of African nations adopting sustainable transport solutions.

LOXEA, known for its innovative mobility services across Africa, is now expanding its electric vehicle offerings to Nigerian customers. The company is not only providing the vehicles but is also implementing the necessary infrastructure to support them, including charging stations, maintenance and repair services, and the supply of authentic spare parts.

At the launch, the vehicles were presented by 234 Drive, a platform recognized for its innovative approach to car culture. The event also saw a creative collaboration with Pith Africa, a contemporary art collective, which designed a special cover for the BYD Atto 3 and launched a storytelling campaign titled “It All Starts with a Naija Dream.”

LOXEA also unveiled plans for the opening of a new showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, which will house Nigeria’s first BYD charging station. Additionally, the company intends to offer flexible home-charging solutions to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible to customers.

During the event, Mr. Mehdi Slimani, Managing Director of LOXEA Nigeria, expressed his excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to introduce these electric vehicles and the comprehensive range of services accompanying them. Our Victoria Island showroom will offer a modern space where customers can discover the future of mobility.”

Marc Hirschfeld, CEO of CFAO Mobility, emphasized that BYD’s entry into Nigeria presents a significant opportunity to transform the urban transportation landscape in Africa: “BYD is one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers globally. Their innovation aligns with the needs of African cities. It’s time to build a support system for sustainable mobility that encompasses individuals, businesses, transport networks, and public institutions.”
